35 tips to grow followers and impressions on X

35 Growth Tips to Holistically Boost Impressions on X

Since subscribing to the coveted X Blue checkmark, I’ve found myself incessantly diving into Twitter analytics and crunching numbers. My goal is nothing short of ambitious: 5 million impressions on X within just three months.

However, this is easier said than done. As you can see in the below X analytics screenshot, the X Blue Checkmark really makes an impact. Nonetheless, despite actively participating in the replies section, I have barely managed a per-day average of 26,700 impressions. I would need over 55,000 impressions per day for the 5 million target.

Even if, I would spend the whole day actively participating on Twitter, I would have to be really lucky to cross the desired threshold. Without strategic planning, this goal will be very difficult to achieve.

How do I achieve 5 Million impressions on X or Twitter?

I turned to ChatGPT to help me craft a plan inspired by Stephen R. Covey’s “The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People,” and the insights I received were invaluable.

But I wanted to offer you something truly unique and share-worthy, so I probed deeper with specific questions.

7 Habits for Highly Effective Tweets on X

7 Habits of Highly Effective People by Stephen Covey can be a holistic solution to meet your goal of 5 million impressions on X. The habits are classified into three categories. While the first 3 Independent habits focus on your own self-efforts, the latter 3 focus on working along with other people. Finally, the last habit helps you to hone and sustain your other habits.

Independent habits

Interdependent habits

Renewal habit

Before we examine how each of these habits can help our goal to achieve 5 million impressions on X, let us examine the Production/Production Capability (P/PC) Balance concept.

What is the Production/Production Capability (P/PC) Balance concept?

Stephen Covey highlights the importance of balancing immediate production (P) with the ongoing development of production capability (PC). While increasing production can enhance your effectiveness, it’s crucial to invest in the capacity to produce for sustained future output.

Producing tweets and content (P) can have an immediate impact on boosting impressions, but building systems, skills, and processes (PC) enables consistent, sustainable, and efficient production over time.

This equilibrium between production (P) and production capability (PC) optimizes your habits for greater effectiveness.

For instance:

Task: Facilitating river crossings

Bridge and Boats crossing a river as a metaphor for illustrating the concept of Production/Production Capability (P/PC) balance.

Production: Boats

Boats offer a quick method for crossing the river, with the flexibility to navigate various parts of the water. However, in the long run, assisting numerous people across the river via multiple boat trips can lead to exhaustion. Moreover, neglecting boat maintenance increases the risk of future problems.

Production Capability: Bridge

A bridge provides stability and efficiency, reducing the time and effort needed for river crossings. It demands a long-term commitment to constructing a robust, dependable, and sustainable infrastructure.

Resolution: The approach involves initiating river crossings with boats (P) while concurrently constructing a bridge for the long term (PC). Eventually, most people can utilize the bridge (PC) for crossing the river, reserving boats (P) for those requiring specific river navigation.

This method ensures that each time someone wishes to cross the river, they have the option of using the bridge, reducing the dependence on boats and improving overall efficiency.

Now let us use the P/PC balance concept to examine each of the 5 tips in each of the 7 habits in detail.

Habit 1: Be Proactive to boost Tweet impressions

P (Production): Be proactive in addressing immediate issues or challenges.

PC (Production Capability): Develop the skills, mindset, and habits that prepare you to proactively address future challenges effectively.

Be proactive to boost Tweet impressions

Tip 1: Initiative

  • (P): Take the initiative to post content and engage in conversations regularly.
  • (PC): Develop the capability to consistently take initiative by preparing explicit content like blog posts on your niche that can be shared as snippets, threads, or long posts on X. The mental clarity you gain by consolidating your thoughts and ideas in a longer blog post will help you easily engage in conversations.

Tip 2: Responsibility

  • (P): Take responsibility for the quality of your content. Aim to make content that would not only garner likes but also shares and bookmarks.
  • (PC): To consistently produce high-quality content, you will have to build the production capability by creating some thread templates or frameworks. The frameworks will enable you to easily extend your ideas in a manner that is more comprehensible to your audience.

Tip 3: Choice

  • (P): Choose a few niche topics on which you create content keeping in mind your past experience and how relevant the topics would be to advertisers. Aim to be a market leader on those topics or keywords. For example, if you google search “Indian family Europe“, you will not only find a post from milankaraja.com on the first page, but you will also find a whole range of pictures in Google Images. My SEO efforts have helped me get a monopoly over that specific keyphrase. Moreover, the topic would be relevant for advertisers in the travel business like airways and hotels.
  • (PC): Aim to stay consistent on your chosen topics so that you achieve market leadership over your “circle of influence” and are not distracted by your “circle of concern”. The monopoly over your niche ensures that you gain more impressions over the long term, and build a reputation as an expert on those topics. This will expand your “circle of influence” to newer topics related to your niche.
